FREE ONLINE LOAN CALCULATOR

EMI Calculator

Calculate your monthly loan EMI, total interest and total payment easily.

What Is an EMI Calculator?

An EMI calculator is an online tool that helps estimate the monthly payment required to repay a loan. EMI stands for Equated Monthly Instalment.

Toolveta's EMI calculator uses the loan amount, annual interest rate and loan tenure to calculate the estimated monthly EMI, total interest and total repayment amount.

How to Use the EMI Calculator

Enter the amount you want to borrow, the annual interest rate and the loan tenure in years. Then click Calculate EMI.

The calculator will display your estimated monthly EMI, total interest payable and total amount payable over the selected loan period.

EMI Formula

The standard EMI formula is:

EMI = P × R × (1 + R)ⁿ ÷ ((1 + R)ⁿ − 1)

Where:

  • P = Principal loan amount
  • R = Monthly interest rate
  • N = Total number of monthly instalments

The annual interest rate is converted into a monthly rate before applying the formula.

EMI Calculation Example

Suppose you borrow ₹5,00,000 at an annual interest rate of 8.5% for 5 years.

The calculator converts the annual interest rate into a monthly rate and calculates the estimated monthly EMI based on the selected loan tenure.

The exact EMI, total interest and total repayment are displayed automatically by the calculator.

What Does the EMI Calculator Show?

The calculator provides three main results:

  • Monthly EMI
  • Total interest payable
  • Total amount payable

What Factors Affect Loan EMI?

Your EMI mainly depends on the loan amount, interest rate and loan tenure.

A larger loan amount generally results in a higher EMI. A higher interest rate can also increase the EMI and total interest paid. Increasing the loan tenure can reduce the monthly EMI but may increase the total interest paid over the full loan period.

EMI for Different Types of Loans

An EMI calculator can be useful for estimating payments for different types of loans, including personal loans, home loans, car loans and other loans that use a standard reducing-balance EMI structure.

Is This EMI Calculator Free?

Yes. Toolveta's EMI calculator is free to use. No account or registration is required.

Important Note

The result provided by this calculator is an estimate based on the information entered by the user. Actual loan payments may differ because of lender-specific rates, fees, taxes, insurance, processing charges, changes in interest rates or other loan terms.

For important financial decisions, verify the applicable terms and calculations with your lender or an appropriate financial professional.
